Welcome to the Mississippi Landscape Management Plan

A management plan is a valuable tool for forest landowners.  It provides important information about your property and a schedule of activities designed to ensure you maintain or create the conditions on your land that meet your ownership goals, whether wildlife management, timber income, restoration, or any combination.

Compiling all the information that goes into a plan can be time consuming.  The Mississippi Landscape Management Plan (MS LMP) is designed to be a streamlined one-stop shop that will provide much of the basic information required, like soils, endangered species habitat, historic sites, and the like, which requires querying numerous separate databases and information sources.  This will allow you to concentrate on developing stand recommendations and operations that create your future preferred conditions.

Written management plans are required for various cost-share programs offered by the state or federal government.  They are also required for Tree Farm certification.  A Tree Farm plan contains the most detailed information and is suitable for cost-share, so the Mississippi Landscape Management Plan was developed to meet Tree Farm Standards.  Once your plan is completed, entry into the Tree Farm program is just an inspection away.

Management planning just got easier, whether you are a landowner or a consulting forester.  Come on in and take a look.
